Jetstar gunwale rubbing strip
« on: June 27, 2013, 03:50:08 AM »
Does anyone have any ideas where I might be able to source this? I'm keen to find something close to the original profile but am struggling. Have tried usual places such as Wicks ( the rubber people not the builders merchants) but no joy. Any help greatly appreciated

We used Wilks rubber and plastics at Maldon, Essex for the Jetstar fender rubbing
strip. Hope this helps, Alanr

Thanks for the info Alan, will get in touch with them as well. Fingers crossed they've still got some on the shelf.
I know, highly unlikely but one can only hope.

Geoffl,

Did you contact them?

And did they still have it?

I'm in search for the gunwhale also.

My search ended in China where the have a 90% similar gunwhale.

The downside is that it can only be ordered in quantities of 100m  :'( Perhaps a joined purchase?

Here is a link and a picture

I had it remade to the shape which came off my boat, Wilk's didn't have anything to do the job or any records of the original.
Need to look up where I got it done, I do have enough left over to do another boat if you are interested? Just need to cover the cost.

just had a thought...you have a 520 so will need a bit more than a 400. Can you give me an idea of length and I'll dig out the piece I've got and check it's length.
