New Aluminium Speedboat
« on: June 07, 2019, 11:25:40 AM »
Thought members might be interested to learn of an all-new aluminium speedboat that's just gone on the market.

The guy behind the project, James Oakley, contacted me some years ago seeking information on Simmonds boats, and I was happy to send him whatever I had. Now, some while later, he has sent me a link to the new website for Seacott Marine, including a video of their Shearwater 19 in action.

The influence of classic boats like the Simmonds and Albatross is clear to see from the lines and configuration of the hand-built Shearwater, which echoes so much of the appeal of the older boats.

VERY Pretty, do they do the V6 or V8 as well?  ;D
If you don't know where to start... start somewhere, the rest falls into place.

That is a rather nice boat Thumper.

However, being a recalcitrant youngster (as I was) and continue to be in my old age I like jet boats so how about this, but please watch it through, it will make you smile at the brilliant New Zealanders and their jet boats:

It certainly is a brilliant way of getting the boat onto the trailer and extremely quick. I think it took less than a second to 'trailerise' it. I want one of them  8)
