Jetstar Reunion
« on: October 27, 2013, 10:37:41 AM »
Hi All, I would like to see if there's enough interest in having a 'Jetstar Reunion' ????  I have run it past a few people with Jetstars & seem to get  a good response. I'm thinking that it might be a bit tight for early next year, but maybe late next season?
I now know that Jestar #1 was built / used in 1966, so we are coming up to 50 years & it would be fantastic to get some of the 180+ boats together on one lake somewhere !!
Initial thoughts on a venue ( although I haven't contacted anybody yet ) ..... Wire Mill Lake in East Grinstead where Jetstar no 1 was tested first. This is currently a small Ski club so maybe ???
Secondly Hedgecourt lake Nr East Grinstead as this is were most other Jetstars were tested ( less likely as it's now a sailing club ).
Other lakes might be better perhaps for a more central location, although they wouldn't have quite the same connection ?? Suggestions on this forum would be appreciated.
Hope to hear from all owners ( coming or not ! )
Mark P

Good Idea Mark, but getting a classic boat group together is quite hard as I have found. We are not like car enthusiasts, because we spend years restoring and about 1 hour every 3 years on the water. Having said that, I will support you and you have at least one lake as you know, which is central. Go for it and invite us all  ;D
