Hi all,
Just signed up and will get into gear in the next few weeks.l live in North  Yorkshire and at least an hour and a half East or West to water but still have boats of all kinds in my blood. Latest project is taking over an abandoned restoration of two Jetstars. I only need one so any interested parties looking for  an interesting project get in touch.  I bought two hulls two trailers  three ford engines ,two good  Castoldy jets ,one has  been reconditioned by Lancing Marine all posh and shiny painted and two castoldy jets in bits. Lots of original kit and probably enough to build two boats. The restoration is the first of this kind l have undertaken so will need lots of help. First problem this week will be to source two securing caps to hold the engine bell housing to the castoldy bell housing, and find  connecting unit to get the 05 Castoldy connected to a 2ltr Pinto . If anybody out there can help please let me know. Just found out this week the eye watering  cost of castoldy parts from a well  known marine company !! That`s all for now will have a look around the site and probably start a thread on the right page.

Hi and welcome Jetstream.
The Jetstars are becoming evermore popular, especially since I set aside a board for the guys. on the 29th May, we plan to get an even bigger gathering of Jetstars, so if you can come along please let me know. Take a look on the Jetstar board. The guys are great and we even have Alan, the Guru of Jetstars on board.

I used to organise a full gathering for everyone, but only the faithful turned up. I had lots of promises, but the Jetstar guys are faithful and enjoy their immaculate boats and always turn up. Plus we have AlanR with us. If you want to come along, it is not a secret, we don't have those, it is on the 20th May.

Keep in touch with the Jetstar guys on the jetstar board and all details will be posted pretty soon.

We set a record last year for the most Jetstars on the lake at once and it made the press, it also rained a deluge, but put no-one off. This year we stand to get a world record I think from the promises  :D

You are more than welcome. BN

Hi Jetstream, glad you joined up! What superstars are they? I know I'm being nosey, but if you've got any pictures, they speak a thousand words. I don't have many bits & I don't have mounting bits, but they don't look too difficult to fabricate if all else fails! Mark

Hi Mark,
Thanks for the interest when l bought the boats l had a large file on all the package. Now trying to find it ! when l do l will post more info.
I am quite an innovator but don't have the facilities to manufacture these caps. It would be useful if l could find a manual on the 05 castoldy,. Small details like do the caps act as a bearing or just clamp tight. Any thoughts on that matter would help.lt looks like the spindles are set in rubber suggesting the caps hold tight. These small things help stop learning by mistakes.
Trouble is l get distracted and this weekend going to London to look at a Pearly Monach to fit the spare castoldy into to give me a covered day boat to do some estuary exploration in. Will catch up again when l have more information. Regards Keith

The clamps are a bit like motorbike handlebar clamps. They allow a little movement via the rubber & that's it. Sorry, I've never seen a workshop manual as such, but the parts diagram downloaded from Castoldi's website is very informative. The rubber drive coupling on mine is from an Alfa Romeo propshaft & was a tenner from an Alfa specialist. I'll take some measurements / pictures when I take the engine out, which will be fairly soon.
Btw, "superstars" who wrote this rubbish productive text???

Hey BN,  when is the Jetstream meet? You mentioned two dates- I can make 20th, but not 29th... May even have a jet boat to bring along...

D'oh, was confusing it with Jetstream's posts. 20th is still JUST doable, but just noticed I'm on an 0700 flight on 21st, so maybe not with my boat... Whereabouts is the meet? Cheers, Tim.

Hi Tim, the venue is Northamptonshire, about 15 minutes off the A14 and 20 minutes of the M1. I love Jetstreams, but sadly I am about 1.5 million short of funds  ;)

HI BN
Please can you help, I am trying to get to the Jetstar meet on the 20 May. Having spent 20 years rallying and working on six figure map references, feeling a bit stupid and not able to master the google seven figure references supplied for this meet please can you explain where it is.
Thanks Keith.
