Bluebird Jetstar
« on: May 18, 2009, 07:47:18 PM »
Hi, I am more used to boats with rags and sticks but have just acquired a Bluebird Jetstar to restore. It has a Ford 1600 crossflow engine (currently tied to the ski pole) and a Castoldijet drive (in pieces in a cardboard box) Hull is sound with a few dings and scratches it has but no front seats. If anyone has any pictures of the interior I would be interested to see what it should look like.
I will post some pictures in the gallery soon.

Welcome to the forum Blue. Maybe I have an idea as to where the boat came from and I hope you enjoy the restoration of it. I think there are a few people on site who will be delighted to assist. BN

Hi, as you probably guessed it was acquired via the wonders of Ebay!

Yes and I think it was one of the forum members who sold it. The classic boat world is a small group of enthusiasts  ;)

Hi Barry, This sounds like the boat you bought from me, I havent looked at this section of the site for a while and just spotted your posting. I hope you are getting plenty of helpfull info, I know I did when I first bought it. Please keep in touch and let me know how the boat is progressing, I am now wishing I still had it and am currently looking for a cheap Dowty (mony is very tight and my wife is not as keen as I am).

Nick.

for those who have, or are interested in, a Bluebird Marine Jetstar there is some excellent footage of the first production Jetstar 400 on
www.britishpathe.com archive. Just put 'Jetstar Boat' In the keyword
search and you will see about 1 1/2 mins. of film. Also there is some
very good footage in the related items of Donald Campbell with
the K7 record boat.
