Aquajet 200
« on: September 24, 2007, 01:46:51 PM »
i have an Aquajet 200. Its 10ft long and it has a Piaggio Berkeley 6J jet drive which is matched to the engine which is a Piaggio ks200 engine with about 55hp (we think??). The boat was made by Piaggio and exported to Dubai as inshore race boats. We have a picture of one in Dubai in 1986 in the same colour as mine ;D. Mine is serial no. 009 and was distributed by Skidaddle and made by Hunters Plastics.
Here are some pics.

Hi, I've got one very similar, came with a Rotax 637 engine, but I've currently got a Piaggio twin-cylinder engine fitted, as I'm struggling to get the Rotax running. Not that the Piaggio engine's any better currently, can't make it tick over- revs out nicely, but will NOT idle.. Any pictures of your engine/ jet unit etc, and if you can shed any light on the tickover problem, I'd be grateful!!  Cheers, Tim.

The Rotax is no longer produced and parts are really 'found by luck only'. The Piaggio is easier to get parts for. There are a few guys with Mitcham and Almarine water jet boats on the site, but let me know what you want and I will see what I can find.

Hi BN, just (!!!) seen your reply to my post of last year- still struggling to get the Aquajet to run properly. Pretty sure it's a carburettor problem, as thespark is good, and I've tried it with my bespoke,  "modern" ignition system, with a crank position sensor and big fat car coils...!! Anyone any idea of the carb type/settings- it's currently wearing a Dellorto downdraught,  which I've normally seen on 4stroke engines, wondering if that's my problem...

Hi, I have no idea as to what carb went on these little boats. As it is a Piagio I suspect it would be the same as the 3 wheel Piagio trucks, but as it was a racer it could be a German carb. The best person to ask is Dom, who has posted earlier in this section to you. I have only ever seen one of these boats and that was way back, but I do recall it went quite well and looked really nice. Best of luck and if I find details of the carb, I will post immediately.
